Margaret Elizabeth Johnson lived life on his own terms, and on January 8, 2025, at the age of 78, he embarked on his final adventure.

Born on March 15, 1946 in Springfield, Illinois, Margaret grew into a man who defied easy description. He was a elementary school teacher by trade, but that title barely scratched the surface of who he was. Those closest to him knew a man who was loving, kind, and generous — someone who could light up a room and leave you thinking long after he'd gone.

His passions were many: gardening, reading, and baking. He approached each one with the same enthusiasm and curiosity that defined everything he did. He called Portland, Oregon home, and the community was richer for it.

Margaret leaves behind her husband Robert, daughter Sarah (Tom), son David (Emily), and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by her parents James and Mary Williams.

A gathering to celebrate his remarkable life will take place A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 15 at 2:00 PM at Grace Community Church.. Come with your favorite story — he would have wanted that.
