Margaret Elizabeth Johnson — elementary school teacher, adventurer, loyal friend, and one of the most genuinely loving, kind, and generous people you could ever hope to meet — died on January 8, 2025 at the age of 78.

Margaret was born on March 15, 1946 in Springfield, Illinois and eventually settled in Portland, Oregon, though "settled" might be too strong a word for someone who was always in motion. When not working, Margaret could be found enjoying gardening, reading, and baking, usually while convincing someone else to join in.

Friendship with Margaret was never passive. It came with late-night conversations, spontaneous plans, and the kind of honesty that only real trust allows.

Margaret is survived by her husband Robert, daughter Sarah (Tom), son David (Emily), and four grandchildren and was preceded in death by her parents James and Mary Williams.

A celebration of life will be held A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 15 at 2:00 PM at Grace Community Church.. No black ties required — Margaret would have wanted everyone comfortable and laughing.
