Margaret Elizabeth Johnson, 78, of Portland, Oregon, died on January 8, 2025, leaving behind a family that was the proudest accomplishment of a full and vibrant life.

Margaret was born on March 15, 1946 in Springfield, Illinois and never stopped moving forward from there. A career as a elementary school teacher provided purpose and pride, but anyone who knew Margaret understood that titles were never the point. What mattered was connection — to family, to community, to the passions that filled every spare moment: gardening, reading, and baking.

Margaret was many things to many people: loving, kind, and generous. But above all, Margaret was a partner in the truest sense of the word.

Surviving are her husband Robert, daughter Sarah (Tom), son David (Emily), and four grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents James and Mary Williams.

A celebration of life will take place A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 15 at 2:00 PM at Grace Community Church.. Wear something colorful — Margaret would have insisted.
